The diagnosis, treatment and rehabilitation from injury and illness.

I aim to restore movement & reduce pain caused or affected by injury, illness & disability using evidence-based treatments.

Sports injuries can be caused by:

  • an accident – such as a fall or heavy blow
  • not warming up properly before exercising
  • using inappropriate equipment or poor technique
  • pushing yourself too hard

Physiotherapy helps to restore movement and function when someone is affected by injury, illness or disability. It can also help to reduce your risk of injury or illness in the future.

Whether in the office or for home-working, and particularly in the current pandemic climate, where more and more people are working from home and are more likely to do so permanently, wellbeing and employee safety is of even more paramount importance.

In fact, employee safety and wellbeing is an employer’s legal obligation under Health and Safety Executive regulations.

I am a chartered and state registered physiotherapist, and a member of The Association of Chartered physiotherapists in Occupational Health and Ergonomics. I have been the Occupational health Physiotherapist for Sefton Council since 2013.

In this role I am specially trained and regulated to work alone and/or as part of a multi-disciplinary team in your business / workplace. I can work to improve the health and wellbeing of workers so that they can do their jobs efficiently and effectively.

Does you or an older relative need rehabilitation following a long hospital admission?

Does someone you know need help in their home and you feel physiotherapy would help?

Have you or someone you know fallen and would benefit from a falls risk assessment and management plan?

Do you feel you or a family member would benefit from exercises to help with walking and completing day to day activities?

Acupuncture

Acupuncture involves the insertion of very fine stainless steel needles into the skin. It has been used in China for over 2,000 years and increasingly in Western medicine since the 1970s.

In September 2012, NICE recognised acupuncture’s benefits for migraines and tension-type headaches too. Acupuncture can be combined with other physiotherapy treatments such as exercise, manual therapy and relaxation techniques. It can also be used when other more conventional treatments have failed.
